Awards presented during the General Session:Alice M.H. McGregor Award O.D. Glaus Credit Executive of Distinction CCE Designation of Excellence Award CBF Designation of Excellence Award CBA Designation of Excellence Award Mentor of the Year | Instructor of the Year Student of the Year Named in honor of one of NACM's most distinguished leaders, the Alice M.H. McGregor Award recognizes an individual whose creative approaches and consistently high performance benefit and sustain his/her company, NACM affiliate, NACM-National and the business credit profession at large. McGregor Award winners are role models and leaders who set standards for others. As the 2011 recipient, Phyllis Truitt has earned her peers' highest regard and respect based on her impeccable record of service to the NACM organization. Mike "Pooch" Puccinelli earned the 2011 O.D. Glaus Credit Executive of Distinction in Nashville, Glaus' home turf. It's the first time the award bore Glaus' name, as the National Credit Executive of the Year Award was renamed shortly after the revered credit professional's death in February 2010. He was an active member on both the local and national levels and contributed outstanding service to the Association. He held almost every leadership position in NACM, including serving as Chairman and was involved in nearly every major development in the profession. O.D. was a true advocate of credit education. Locally, he taught college classes on the principles of credit for more than two decades. Nationally, he was a guiding force in the establishment of the credit field's professional accreditation program. When O.D. was honored as the 1990 NACM National Credit Executive of the Year representing the Southern region, he said, "a legacy to the profession would be learning is a never-ending process." Candidates are judged on local and national service to the NACM organization, community service, educational and professional achievements, mentoring/cultivation of staff and peers and support of the NACM organization. Additionally, candidates will be actively engaged in the business credit profession and must be a CCE in good standing. Mike Puccinelli, CCE was actually one of Glaus' students and a member who had cultivated a relationship with him over the years.
